Chia and Flaxseed Pudding for Optimal Digestion

Chia and flaxseed pudding is a simple, nutrient-dense dish designed to support smooth and healthy digestion as well as boost your plant based omega 3 intake.

Both chia seeds and flaxseeds are rich in soluble fiber, which absorbs water and forms a gel-like consistency. This is amazing in helping to regulate bowel movements. They also contain prebiotics that nourish beneficial gut bacteria, supporting a balanced microbiome.

Ps. Make sure you flaxseed is freshly ground. Whole flaxseeds often pass through the digestive tract with minimal breakdown, meaning you miss out on many of their nutrients.

My recipe includes chia seeds, ground flaxseed, plant based protein powder, coconut milk and greek yogurt. I love topping it with a nut butter, cocoa nibs and kiwi to give that extra gut boosting power!

Recipe

  • 1/4 cup chia seeds

  • 2 tablespoons ground flaxseed

  • Optional- 2 tablespoons plant based protein powder or collagen powder

  • 1 cup your choice of milk, I like coconut

  • 1/2 cup yogurt of your choice, I like whole fat greek yogurt

  • Toppings- coconut flakes, berries, nut butters, cocoa nibs, kiwi, banana

Method

  • Add all of the ingredients into a large bowl and whisk well

  • Cover and place in the frige for a couple of hours or overnight

  • Serve with your favourite toppings

Can be stored in the fridge for 3 days.
